Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Today Was a Bad Day

Today we watched over 200 years of experience walk out the door as our AP teams in the United States worked their last day. Everything being shipped across the pond to Manila. Don't get me wrong I have no issue with the folks in the Philippines but we lost a huge amount of experience and talent today. I've been feeling it for months already during the "training period." Yeah, the folks in the States had to stay long enough to train their replacements or they wouldn't receive their severance package. It makes me absolutely HATE the organization I work for when I see good folks who did nothing wrong get me to go in the interest of saving a buck. I'm sure I will be on the list soon enough. A this point it may actually be a relief. GPN can find a big fat di--o and stick it straight up, their candy a-s!

Just wait till the October Surprise. The next cut is coming. From what my boss has hinted at, it seems targeted for an end of the month announcement.

@a3

You said so many words but made absolutely no point.

The team isn't being replaced by AI or become obsolete due to technology.
They're moving it to the Phillipines because it's cheaper, because capitalism.

Despite the fact this company has posted net profits every quarter for years now, they continue to layoff the staff that allowed them to get those profits.

PUBLIC Companies have absolutely no loyalty to their employees now. None of them.
All that matters is the share price, and if they could lay you off to make their stock price go up by $0.00001, they would.

Sorry. Technology changes. Used to swipe credit cards with triplicate carbon copies just 20 years ago. All online now. Cheaper in emerging hungry companies with T1 connections. The world is changing rapidly without any real skills to adapt to
