If you get laid off with a severance, you can still file for unemployment. Visa pays into this for every employee, don't leave it. In California, severance pay does not automatically disqualify you from receiving unemployment benefits. California’s Employment Development Department (EDD) treats severance pay differently than regular wages. This means you may be eligible to apply for unemployment benefits even if you’ve received a severance package.

Keep detailed records of your severance agreement and any payments received, as you’ll need to report this information to the EDD.

In California, you can get up to $450 per week. And, don't wait until your 60 days are out. File as soon as HR ends their meeting.

Yes, and you can find all the details on insite. They changed the policy from one month for every year to two weeks per every year in Jan 2024 because they knew this was coming. Anything to save money, but in the long run this will hurt their customers just wait! Also, the 60 day notice period could be working or non working depending on your position.
