Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

ENGINE Transition Advisors

I retired 20 years ago and now enjoy retirement. I am as retired no longer in the loop.

I am curios what exactly is the term meaning of the word Engine? Is Engine a contract Company or overseas offshore special force team now onsite?

I never said they would innovate or standardize the workflows. Sorry if I confused anyone. I meant they will use the standard workflows.

@h0 it’s sad that your post is most likely either a shock to employees or maybe even scoffed at as being untrue. It’s as if there’s two types of us: those who know this stupidity is actually the plan and happening in their faces and those who really think the leaders don’t have a “plan”.

There is no such engineering and innovation center at ENGINE India. They just do existing tasks from US workers but at a lower pay grade. They won't innovate anything. They will actually gladly take CVX's money with minimal involvement. It's hilarious that somebody could think that India will do the inovation for US companies FROM INDIA REMOTELY!!

Will a US worker take orders from an ENGINE "innovator"?

I don’t understand how we could possible be outsourcing engineering to India. That’s crazy. We stopped doing engineering in-house years ago. Gaslighting all around.

OP the ENGINE is "most probably" (pronounced with an Indian accent like Apu on the The Simpsons'), a marketing term the "borg" aka Chevron has concocted to imply 1) "ENGINEering" workforce and 2) disguise the fact the Engine is a Chevron employee workforce that is centered in India with a lower cost wage model intended to replace higher wage US, Australian and all other 1st world workers in the world.
The goal is to standardize the workflows required to support the companies operations like an assembly line at a automobile company. With time it will have lower cost benefits, in the short to intermediate term, there will be loss of productivity, loss of institutional moral from the current US and ABU workforce and a change in the company culture of "Human Energy" to exploit the Indians in a lower wage country.
Chevron is having so much trouble staffing the employee positions the current positions are being staffed with MSP contract resources that can only work from a limited set of written procedures. Cross training is ineffective because the contract people will more than likely be gone as the new employees are hired and then subsequently quit in <12 months to acquire higher wages at a competing IT company in the Tech center city of Bangaluru, India.
The idea of a life long job ending with a comfortable retirement, a pension and 401K is being erased at Chevron. Someday Chevron will be a corporate investment bank that holds stakes in various NOJV for energy (review the recent acquisition of Hess) and will diversify their portfolio into other strategic investments to maximize the Return on Capital Employed (ROCE), like a good corporate steward for investors.

@OP Ask Akshay Sahni (President Punkah Wallah) for the ENGINE Org Chart!

No one under PSG 27 at Chevron has seen the elusive ENGINE Org Chart!
