Everything was good then I got a sudden position change to another team about three days ago… message sent through teams. Very vague. Any idea of what’s to come?

Not necessarily a bad thing, had a colleague moved to different teams 3 times and each time was spared from the layoffs.
sadly - this is how they are handling folks being set up for RIF - layed off.
@ap both!
Same thing happened to me recently. I will not say where or where from because that is d-mb for me to satisfy someone's curiosity. Ultimately, moving elsewhere is better than losing the paycheck. I have never felt more like a cog in the machine after being kicked around the company for years because management can't manage.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the writing’s on the wall. It looks like either you or your old team is likely to be laid off in the next few weeks or months.
Sometimes leadership handles it this way to protect someone they favor or to avoid making the layoffs too obvious.
I’m not speculating or exaggerating—I've seen this play out before. Back in 2023, some individuals were “reorg’d” out of their teams only to be laid off shortly afterward. I also heard about a team that was split up for being “too large,” and ultimately, the entire original team—including the supervisor—was let go.
At the end of the day, they have to recover the money lost in the stock somehow, and unfortunately layoffs is their only strategy.
@OP sounds like a reorg in the works . I’ve had that nonsense happen to me 4 times in the past two years.
@OP What do you mean by position change to another team? You got moved to another team or your job title changed and you got moved to a new team?
@OP Just wondering which department and position? Some insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like a reorg is in the works.
