Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Agency business meeting in London last week..

So Progressive is eating SF’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner while simultaneously dethroning SF from the #1 auto insurer spot. Operating expenses need to be reduced and dept budgets are getting cut. But doesn’t stop chairman’s council members and agents having meetings half way across the world. 🤦🏻

Without agents bringing in business, paying out of their pocket for every expense in their office to recruit/maintain staff, apologize for underwriting delaying yet again (for the fourth time) a simple service request or getting yelled at because a claims adjuster can't call a customer who has requested help - earning a trip without rising annual goals which a small percentage in the nation accomplish... Hardly seems like something we should complain about. Many of us couldn't do it and so we choose to complain. The London trip is earned for literally being among the best of the entire group of agents, who we should thank for helping us have customers to serve as we lose them from the churn of any large organization.

@ak Very few agents qualify. And it's far from a "tax writeoff". State Farm grosses up the agents' pay (presumably at full retail, though SF likely gets a deep discount), and it actually creates a tax BILL for the agent.
There's a reason that while most of you are envious of the perks that a miniscule percentage of agents qualify for...........there's a time honored saying among agents that "I can't afford the FREE stuff from State Farm"

With a growing net worth of nearly 150 BILLION there is a strong likelihood SF will survive every employee working there today.

Good news is eventually they will run the business into the ground. It can't last like it's being run now.

They are just finding more ways to f-ck operations to keep the scam going! With a 30% increase in rates over the last two years, the average agent is seeing about $10K more a month in their paychecks for doing absolutely nothing! The Execs bonuses are going up too! They have to keep sc--wing all of us to smoke their $200 Cubanas and wear their custom made $2000 Italian penny loafers! They talk about cheating on their spouses and how useless all of us are! All paid for by policyholders! Repair that roof, don't replace. LKQ parts, never OEM, and more 1x1s and SxS! Accountability Cycle for thee not for meee!!!

Don't worry the budget for ambassador travel is only $50 million.

Ambassador travel. Fake meeting so agents can justify some tax write off for qualifying. The costs of these trips are cooked into life premiums. Nothing burger here.

In England? Last I checked SF isn't a multi-national insurance company. It doesn't even operate in Canada anymore like it once did. So WTF is a meeting happening in London for?
