Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Do you think many MRO people will sign EOIs?

Do you think there will be many people from MRO signing the EOI's and not to many from COP?

That aligns with what hMRO employees have told me. COP is gaga about analysis to the nth degree when 80% would be the “minimum acceptable standard”. However, I doubt this will be acceptable even with 30% headcount reduction.

hMRO here, yes we can opt for EOI, if we do and are selected we get the hMRO package no COP’s package.

Many of the hMRO employees were “force” hired and many are not happy.

The processes and management style at COP is very different than MRO and to be honest, it’s a s—t show over there.

Way too many layers of management, redundant processes, and no one knows what any one else does.

@pk cr-p they are def gonna cut

@pb not necessarily true. They can cut up to 10% of total comp and mro people would have no recourse. If they cut more than that mro people can leave with the package.

They're paid the same as they were and they won't be paid less. That's how.

What? That’s awful…. How can they make the decision then

@bz They were not given the option. They still don't know what their pay will be if they stay.

@jh... which is why they're likely safe. MRO's severance package is much higher than COP's. Think about it.

If any of the MRO people hired on permanently by COP are severed within 24 months of 11/2024 they get the change of control package. They are protected so that COP can’t just hire them to avoid buyout package.

MRO folks they hired (ie offered an actual job with COP, not transition) are likely safe actually. Don't forget they announced CEP before the sale closed. If they offered someone a job it's because they're needed.

I'm from MRO and I'll be trying to stay - yes the comp package is good but work is work. I'm surprised how negative people are about Conoco on here. If you're a complainer see yourself out - I'm more than glad to stay.

Because some MRO employees were held hostage and brought over against their will, even if they wanted to be severed.
Source: I know two of them.

No... transition MRO employees are basically still MRO employees. And a lot are still on transition until September. At which point they'll be let go and receive MRO's package. Not many were hired on with COP but I guess they'd be eligible for COP's package. They'd be sc--wing themselves though because I think they'd only get the minimum 4 weeks.

They're not making up a large amount of the workforce COP's going to layoff. They were already counted in MRO's layoffs, even the ones still on transition.

Why would they not have taken the amazing MRO package, and then take our less desirable package?? If they wanted to change industry/career, they would have done so at the COP buyout because that severance packager was bonkers

MRO staff haven’t had much time to form an opinion but given we’re having layoffs so quickly after integration, it gives them another chance to take a package. If I recall correctly, they’re still under the former change of control framework.
