Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

is AI to be blamed for CEO being fired?

I feel bad for the people who were laid off in March and April. It didn’t have to happen that way—they should have decided to replace the CEO earlier instead of cutting employees who rely on their paychecks. Was the CEO fired because of AI?

Mark cared about growing the size of the company thinking it would lead to revenue growth. AI is co----e for CEO. Artificial replaces human/natural. If that worked we would all has Astroturf lawns. But the dr-g was too strong. Without knowing how the company truly operates, he assumed AI would just work and the ELT cheerleaders just said yes, yes, yes. AI is the long term future for all of tech. But only companies with a strong grasp of their operations and a willingness to invest in their products and internal infrastructure will survive without being acquired. OpenText can come out of this a better company if they make the right moves now and go back to focusing on core products vs. hoping AI will just work. Mark needs time in failed CEO rehab.
