Atlantic Data Center Impacts

Can somebody explain to me why we moved the data center to Atlanta and how that impacts everyone in USAA ? Both pros and cons?

The question should be why we are spending the money on a data center instead of the cloud? Easy answer USAA’s application and communication technology has zero architecture that makes sense. It would cost too much to correct the sins of the past and Amala has no idea how to fix it!

Maybe the right question isn’t where, but who owns these data centers?

USAA isn’t the only company moving its data center to Atlanta . A lot of non-Texas based companies are too . Atlanta is the hot spot for the upcoming AI revolution . AIs are very data and power hungry .

Agree with the half of posters who point out this has been well communicated. It’s about resiliency strategy and the Texas power grid. And yeah, most MSRs wouldn’t know bc it does NOT impact them at all. People need to chill out.

Because after creating an office for I/T personnel in Phoenix and then wiping it out…well, that largesse and stupidity and the USAA way.

Was done to limit the scale of an outage, so if the Texas power grid goes under, again, but for longer than the diesel-powered backup generators can be fueled, we still are able to run from somewhere else. Shouldn't mean anything to those who aren't working the project--was supposed to be invisible to call center, etc.

yes scrub through 500hrs of UTV footage for a 10 second sound bite vs just asking for some straight talk. What it seems like is no one really knows the answer and only knows the talking points and propaganda but they won’t say that so they’d rather make you feel d-mb for asking.

It’s giving “I’ve been at USAA for 15+ tears

It’s because Texas is an @$$ state with a privatized @$$ power grid run by @$$ companies that don’t spend money on upkeep but do bribe the @$$ Governor and others who look the other way.

Not sure why the snark remarks from people, as the average employee has no idea what this is. I’m an MSR, and unfortunately we don’t get to watch employee meetings or bank town halls, and our management only cares about preaching sales goals to us. I guess it’s on a need to know basis, because I have no clue what that means to me in the call center.

I didn’t know it was a requirement to do research prior to posting here. Do they cover employee sentiments on UTV. Wait , let me scour the internet first before I post a response .

You are telling me that everyone on this forum is freaking out about layoffs and that is covered by UTV ?

Go on UTV and watch literally any town hall from the last year and they explain it in great detail. Did you even try to find this answer yourself before posting it here?
