Well the Mark is getting full of United Way announcements. Sorry, but you are laying off people and expect everyone to donate their hard earned money for maybe a free day off work. Is a day off work really worth it? Google the salaries of United Way chances are all our money goes to salaries. I’ll continue to donate directly to the organizations I want like dog rescues and such.

I’ll donate 1 cent this year.
@bc they aren’t doing the vacation day give away this year
The UW mafia. Donations should always have been voluntary not some threat. Agree let the worthless extremely overpaid management donate, they take the credit and PR anyhow. Leave the rest of us the f alone before you layoff people.
UW is a great organization and people should support it regardless of what’s happening internally.
Heard there won’t be a day-off incentive with the UW ePledge this year. And most, if not all, the kick-off events got CEP’d as well. Good luck getting anyone to donate now.
What happens if you make a large pledge and then get laid off
I also do the absolute bare minimum one time donation. As mentioned I consider it buying one vacation day for 25-50 bucks. Worth it.
For sure. Hey ELT, you can boost your giving this year. Leave the rest of us alone.
I always found this to be a highly suspect practice. I donate to the charities that I see fit to donate to and utilize the matching grant option. I don’t appreciate management telling me where I should donate money to. I always had the sense that this was somehow a giant scam anyway.
You are spot on, I don't like UW as an organization either. Especially given some of the things UW puts money towards, think DOGE and USAID.
I do donate the bare min to count towards free day off (min is like $30 or $50). That day off is worth a lot more than that small amount of money.
They should blow up that whole program tbh.
