does anyone know if a person submits their 2 weeks notice with ss&c technologies, working under the afs side, if they will immediately terminate you or allow you to work that notice period?

Why would you give any notice? Did they give notice to everyone they laid off? Don't even tell them just stop going in don't respond when they call. Fu-k them.
Depends on your location, if you are in the UK I have heard many people have negotiated and in many cases gotten what they wanted.
It would depend on where the role is located at and sometimes the role itself.
Some countries and states like New York, if you are let go before your notice period ends, you must be paid out for that full time period, and could be eligible for unemployment post as it is considering a firing vs. voluntary departure/quit due to their decision.
You might just be sent home that day and paid out the remainder of the notice period as long as you sign paperwork stating that you won't claim unemployment, etc. and that you were resigning on your own accord.
You'll most likely be sent home for that 2 week period and paid out to the end of it.
