@7wa
HR did layoffs back in August in their own dept. Probably why response time is slow. My HR friend is still without a job, market slow. In Finance, we were already told this summer some jobs may be outsourced. We hear whispering it is happening, my guess it’s related when a contract starts?

@hc Just using the code "Yt" says it all about YOU...since only one demo uses that code! There was nothing wrong with D&I at CPChem until they added the "E" for Equity. Added new positions like "chief DEI" queen and her staff of one persuasion? Seems like most DEI teams across corporate America are same demo! They are indoctrinated against the "Yt" folks they innately dislike. They are all about victimhood and pushed several agendas at CPChem that were racist, biased and unnecessary! Starting with the training they spent millions on that was leadership training ONLY for non-whites. They actually tried to kept it hush, hush too, only selected, Asians, Blacks, Hispanics! But they didn't expect the push back from the minorities they singled out themselves. But they didn't even care when these same candidates were offended they were being singled out for training based SOLELY ON RACE! What a slap in the face to so many people, when the DEI team felt they couldn't achieve anything on their own and were chosen based solely on identity politics and box they checked! The new DEI Queen & her minions pushed that! They also pushed ERG's and mandates that they should follow at their annual ERG summit...huge waste of $$$ by the way...but where is the White Male ERG, Christian ERG, Jewish ERG, etc. You get the point? So much for "inclusion" when CPChem excludes people from training and or advancement if they don't fit their "under served community" rules and biases regardless of MERIT. Total BS! "In March 2025, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) issued new guidance about DEI-related discrimination in the workplace—and ERG programs are directly impacted. " Clearing out the "equity" part of at CPChem is long overdue. Companies across the globe have acknowledged even well-meaning DEI and ERG programs can violate Title VII if they restrict access based on identity. The D&I or iCARE programs weren't broken, but as usual HR adding new layers, creating new positions ruined it. But no one is surprised since CPChem HR is a cess pool sorority of mean girls that have had a revolving door of men leave roles under same mean girl watch, saw numerous HR GRADs leave after seeing the toxic environment, and have seen same sorority members advance, move around and reward themselves. Human Resources is supposed to be the heartbeat of a company—the department that looks after people, safeguards culture, and ensures fair, legal, and ethical operations. But what happens when HR itself becomes the BULLY? When the very person responsible for employee care is the one pushing talent out the door?

@jf Thanks. I had my AI client rewrite what your AI client wrote and asked it to make it completely factual and without bias:
Discussions on X (formerly Twitter) have increasingly framed Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives as contributing to inefficiencies, with some users characterizing them as forms of systemic bias or as drivers of division within organizations. Posts frequently assert that DEI hiring practices may result in the selection of underqualified candidates, potentially impacting team performance and operational cohesion.
Economic pressures have coincided with a notable reduction in DEI-related roles across major corporations. A 2023 CNBC report documented that companies such as Google, Meta, and others reduced DEI program budgets by up to 90% during widespread layoffs, citing a reassessment of non-essential functions. Similarly, a 2024 NPR article reported that Walmart, Target, Amazon, and Meta eliminated thousands of DEI positions, attributing the reductions to cost-cutting measures and shifting organizational priorities.
These developments have occurred alongside increased legal and political scrutiny. Following recent judicial decisions and public debate, some organizations have reevaluated DEI strategies to ensure compliance with evolving regulations and stakeholder expectations. In parallel, investor sentiment has influenced resource allocation, with some shareholders questioning the measurable impact of DEI initiatives on financial performance.
While the long-term implications remain under study, the contraction of DEI roles reflects a broader recalibration of corporate priorities in response to economic, legal, and cultural factors.
How about you have your AI client call mine and they can hash it out?

@hc you sound like an HR/DEI hire

DEI jobs are nice to have jobs when its booming… systematically racist since affirmative action was overturned

Discussions on X (formerly Twitter) often highlight DEI as “systemic racism” or a driver of incompetence, with users claiming it leads to division and failure. For instance, posts argue that DEI hiring creates cascading inefficiencies, where unqualified individuals disrupt teams and operations.
• Economic downturns have amplified scrutiny: A 2023 CNBC report noted tech giants like Google, Meta, and others slashing DEI programs by up to 90% amid layoffs, as these roles were seen as non-essential to the bottom line. Similarly, a 2024 NPR article reported thousands of DEI jobs eliminated at companies like Walmart, Target, Amazon, and Meta due to backlash and cost-cutting.

@ea JustA Guy: DEI had nothing to do with the layoffs of Yt employees. The real causes were economics, corporate politics, and bad business decisions.
The DEI representatives on LT/LTE didn’t hijack CPChem and convince their Yt peers to collude in targeting you. That's BS.
CPChem’s former DEI programs and its now defunct iCare culture were easy for bad managers to sidestep, and often with HR’s full complicity. Many of us saw it firsthand.
And if you had a job up until August 1, you’re living proof that those programs were just paper tigers.

I have not seen them stop their DEI programs, we are still raising the LGBT flag

We have a lot of people in Management/leadership that are DEI hires at what point do we stop these programs and actually keep employees thats technically sound and can improve things???

At the echelons of Government we have put a stop to the madness but CP CHEM continues to retain their DEI hires who are clueless in their positions.
