Thread regarding Belk layoffs

More RVP's and Store Managers on chopping block, Belk is cleaning house

two more RVP's will be gone by the end of the year. Then the store managers will start dropping like flies. Supposedly there is a list of store managers they want gone, and it's around 75 or so store managers throughout the whole company. So if you are a store manager who recently lost an RVP, is about to loose an RVP, and/or has just been 'coasting' doing the bare minimmum working a cushy schedule, be mindful that your job may be in danger, just a warning to those who think they can do whatever they want to.

@4qe----there is a ton of store managers they want to get rid of.
--------------mostly the no working weekends, leave-early, do-nothings...but they have to have a valid reason to let them go, so they will use not meeting their metrics (aka goals) as a reason.

@gk if you are a store manager your a** better be at your store supporting your team! Even if your in the break room cleaning up after your team has a break....working reports the next day oh please...no store manager is out look for bad sku's or verifying zero count stickers.

My store has had 5 different store managers in the last 7 years. Each and every one was at our inventories every day. Our fifth store mgr was a great leader - all hands on. Was present and very involved in running the store. I respect that. Our sixth and current store manager likes to run everything through text messages and is never involved in store operations or our inventories and is unseen. I just wonder how they are getting away with that. It just irritates me to see hardworking dept mgrs doing jobs of store mgr and probably not being paid for what they are worth.
It’s nice to come here to complain , thanks for listening.

@f5 the inventory controller is the leader who runs inventory. That is normally not the Store Manager. The store manager works the reports from what was scanned the next day.

@OP so we are in the middle of summer inventory right now. Our store mgr can’t be bothered to show up and will not be running any of our inventory nights. They were also absent all nights of our January inventory. Just wondering who has their store manager running inventory and who doesn’t. Seems to me that’s an important time for them to show up.
