Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

New email from da boss, what do y’all think?

More compassion or psychopath?

We hear morale is low and everyone is having anxiety issue, here’s a website you can can go to!!!!!

No mention of any changes to ease anxiety and morale issue such as stop laying off people every month!

Many of us are doing 2 jobs because our co workers got laid off or quit, now I am getting team meetings saying I need to do more…

@f6 HAHA. I was just thinking this. Look at the tariff situation and how Apple was just forced to come back to US. Gunja, 1,2 Trump is coming for you, 3,4 better lock your door…

@eb you're not wrong here but the low hanging fruit is cheaper. They get rid of the high performers because they're expensive, and we're only seen as line items when it comes down to it. Incredible contribution or not.

I agree that many people are doing the work of two or three due to layoffs, but one other unnamed morale issue in this post are the team members that slide by with doing less than the bare minimum. This also takes a toll especially when you see people being laid off that were great employees with solid to high performance over ones that should have been fired years ago. If the bank wants to reduce its FTE why not go for the low hanging fruit - document and fire for cause.

They probably hired 3 copywriters, 2 publicists and 2 crisis managers to soften her tone and to improve her image. I don’t buy it lady, you had a ton of time to prepare for the first all hands and you blew it! It will take you a long time and a lot of action to improve your approval rate. If that’s something that even matters these days. Morale is still in the proverbial toilet and it will remain there for the foreseeable future.

Didn’t even bother reading the email. Just deleted it. That’s where most employees are at this point.

Moral is in the toilet because the bank cannot (will not) spend the money to properly staff and operate the involved business lines in a manner such that the bank can be competitive in the markets they play in. The infatuation with constant layoffs, offshoring and trying to operate these business lines from overseas locations is inexplicable, as businesses, vendors, referral partners and customers themselves have had enough and are moving on from U.S. Bank, along with the various shareholder groups that could make a difference. The biggest moral problem is the wholesale absence of leadership, the poorly thought out decisions relying on paid consultants rather than sound business and banking judgment and the failure to meet shareholder and market expectations is a symptom of the bigger problem, complete lack of leadership.

Morale is low because we’re pushed to the limit with this bullsh-t RTO and without a decent raise doing 2-3 people’s job. Gunjan, get off your high horse or we will make you.

@ac exactly. Commenting took time away from our personal lives so now we spend less time connecting with our friends/loved ones. This is the cause for isolation.

She doesn't have to worry about any of this though, so of course it'll be 'more time in person will fix it!'

Just fu--ing clueless. Someone who takes private jets as a special treat could never understand how negativity RTO and commute times impact lives.

Morale is low because we see co workers getting layoffs every month
Morale is low because we we are now asked to do the job of 2 people. Again due to layoff.

Morale is low and we feel isolated because we now spend 2 hours extra a day traveling to workplace, so we can put on headphones to speak with other on Team. We get look if we speak too loud, we get annoyed having to listen to everyone conversation

Solution? More time in office!!!!uggggggggggh

I feel sick

Yeah low morale is due to less time in the office is how she sees it. Not due to the upper management’s lack of caring about their employees or constant layoff anxiety this company causes. Tone deaf.

My biggest fear is the "isolation" piece. I felt less isolated when I worked from home full time because I had more free time to actually see and connect with people. I don't want to see and connect with people in an office. That's not going to help the feeling of isolation. Nor is pushing more days in the office. People are shut down because of all of this. It's going to be twisted and used against us, I just know it.

lol, that’s my biggest fear when I saw she see we feel isolated!!!!

Her plan to decrease isolation is 5 days in office

All I got do is laugh and see that they’re going to try to spin “feelings of isolation” as a reason to increase their draconian RTO push.

She is so out of touch that it’s incredible.

She needs to be making a deal with another bank so she can move on.
