Big push for Trump to end H1-B visas

H1-Bs are a scam and a way for American companies to import cheap, compliant labor. Companies use them to suppress wages for Americans. Many of us have or will be affected.

If Trump cancels all H1-Bs, he will become the most popular President we have ever had.

Nothing could make Trump the most popular president we've ever had. He's a corrupt, lying, philandering, racist, child predator with more ego than intellect and an unhealthy obsession with tacky gold and undeserved flattery. No president has ever had lower approval ratings than he has in both terms. There is no redeeming the irredeemable. Don't even joke that he could go up in anyone's opinion at this point.

@cb Perhaps you can run for office and fix all of the problems, given that you are a brilliant genius?

But they're already offshoring contractors and replacing them with employees in India. Unless they start taxing that, it isn't going to do any good.

I agree that the H-1B visa system is abused to hire cheaper talent (instead of hiring Americans).

But those people are still people. How many lives will we uproot by abruptly ending this program and deporting everyone who we invited here?

If we want to end the program, we should do it gradually, and in a way where everyone who is already here, everyone who built lives in America, everyone who's kids are Americans, can stay here.

But of course, this administration won't do that. We'll be lucky if they can go back to their original country and not to a random prison camp.

So we'll ruin a bunch of lives. And it won't even help. Cigna will keep hiring in HIH.

If you think Trump is going to save you, you must have graduated from Trump University. The only power you have is in collective bargaining and the nation has never been more divided and weak thanks to that man-child.

The new model is HIH.. that's the new h1b, easier and even cheaper for companies.

It is already being discouraged by companies. I am in the job market and no one , literally no one is hiring h1bs. It’s already getting impossible for anyone to get a job as it is , adding the H1B condition makes it impossible. People hating on H1B , it’s already a dead cause.

The H-1B visa is a scam. It’s marketed as a way to bring in “top talent”, but in reality, it’s often used to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor. It drives down wages, exploits visa holders, and rewards outsourcing firms.

As someone who is on H-1B, I completely agree that they are most exploited visas out of all, closely followed by L1.

  1. Trump would need to do it after coming up with a backup plan obviously. May be begin by slowly reducing the H1B count, reduce by 10% every year and let's say by 2035, no more than 5,000 H1B vis per year, and have a country cap like green card.
  2. Despite USCIS raising fees consistently, companies are still willing to sponsor H1s. Why?
  3. US needs to have a point-based system like Canada, for example prefer people who have a Masters in US, not from shady foreign universities.
  4. English test (like Vivek proposed).

Many may down vote, but this is just my opinion.

Musk no longer his friend, he more likely going to do it! Plus, don’t give the offshoring companies the BBB tax breaks and order them pay more!!
