Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

25 Year Anniversary Catalog arrived, I was EOI weeks before. What a Joke

Like a lot of you, the 17th of July was my last day with Chevron. Last week, my ‘Congrats’ catalog arrived from CVX after working for 25 years. Lots of cool gifts that no one needs. I picked the smoker because I’ll just resell it. The best what were the kind words from MW….’We wouldn’t have excelled without you. We can’t wait to see what you continue to do to help Chevron succeed!’ Mo--n.

These id--ts probably laid off the staff for handling service anniversaries. How else can you explain them giving me an $800 gift? I’m not even an employe.

My last gift as a 36 year employee was a Bulova Watch. 7 mini diamonds signifying my 35 years. I went one more year before the Company had to move my wife and I back to California after officially retiring. My Manager didn’t even show up to say goodbye. They were the ones that moved my family and I to Texas in 2013. I was over 55 and had thirty years plus at the time. That was the deal. They not only pocketed my wallet they also via Chevron Federal Credit Union gave me outstanding loan rates and paid for the Realtor as well. I still can’t believe how much money they must have spent on a Slacker doing nothing on the 32 second floor of HOU160 for four long years. If I had to do it all again I never would have moved my Mother in Law my Wfie two dogs and a three thousand sq ft home and all that’s in it plus 4 cars. What a waste. But those last four years increased my pension by 100k plus. Then they paid to move us back. Again, what a waste. I worked hard but it was never worth the money the Company paid. I can’t imagine the cost of overseas Slackers doing the same thing Internationally.

If they sent the brochure, you should get the gift. It’s a nice program…when I mention this to people that don’t work for Chevron, they are pretty shocked Chevron does this. I hope it will continue and that id--t MN doesn’t nix it to save money.

OC Tanner handles the anniversary gifts not Chevron. Even if you left you deserve the gift for 25 years of work. Catalog for gifts typically come several months before your anniversary date. They used to send to your supervisor. You may need to reach out to that person to pick up your gift. They should pull the insincere MW inserts for those who dedicated their careers to be shown the door. You are right to be upset. Enjoy your gift.

Who said anything about being a contractor? Just living in your own fantasy world? And if you don't understand the idiocy of thanking an employee for the future contributions just thirty days after they've left the company, then you're also a mo--n.
