It’s laughable that the same firm pushing psychological safety training sent out that long-winded, cr-ppy email reminding everyone they’re replaceable. Do these jokers really think they’re fooling anyone with this kind of messaging?
However meaningless any post on this site may be, at least it’s at least a place for us to process leadership’s gaslighting emails and remind ourselves we’re not crazy for seeing what’s right in front of us. The message is clear that what really matters to “leadership” is control, real estate, and cutting headcount without spending a dime.
That long-winded, buzzword filled email trying to convince us that culture and connection still matter didn’t work because in the same message they said: Culture and connection matter unless you live near a “space-constrained location”, or you’re remote due to a medical accommodation… then you can stay for now, but don’t get comfortable.
It is pretty clear they are working on determining how to eliminate those folks without paying severance so just stand by for a follow up email. The clowns are working on finalizing that draft with legal to avoid any ADA lawsuits.
And everyone else please be aware that your continued presence is a privilege. Don’t forget to express your gratitude for being allowed to stay and work in the office, while leadership figures out how to eliminate enough of you (severance-free obviously) to hit the balance sheet target numbers.
