Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Early impact of offshoring

One month in after the new org and we have had the most major IT reliability incidents in a month that we have ever had.

LC is in way over his head. Network and security down and business can’t run. It’s all numbers to MN and things sounded good on paper, but when you lose critical employees who actually have to keep things up and running at the BU locations, this is what happens.

You get a guy a PSG 29 job, even though he has never done this sort of stuff before - running IT Ops.

The only people who win are LC and his cronies getting a fat paycheck, and the management consultants coming in to clean up this mess because MN, RB don’t really know how after LC is justifiably canned.

those metrics wont go to MKW. they will be glossed over. Just like the one about Engine being fully staffed and no hiring issues.

Just in the last week:
WAN network connection down in the Pascagoula refinery impacting business operations. Users unable to access phone and data at the site.

SFTP traffic issue impacting the TMW dwelt forecasting application; impact is causing delays in order acceptance from carriers.

(I don’t know what that means, but it was classified as a “major incident”)

B2Bi application experiencing connectivity issues affecting payment file processing and other critical interfaces with external partners including Citibank and OpenText. Users unable to receive payment on time.

3 major incidents in 1 week. Could go back farther but you get the point.
