Almost August… still no real update?

Last week of July and we have not heard anything new?

Any idea when are they coming?

EOI, Layoffs %, new structure, ELT changes?

Every time there are layoffs it almost seems as if they want to maximize the uncertainty and anxiety level. They just don’t care.

@gv No, I'm not. And I don't actually know anything. Marathon employees may be fine. Just saying that if they 1) add employees a few months ago 2) then say they're laying off employees 3) BUT claim the addition of employees and the need to lay some off are not related, then they're disingenuous at best. At worst, they think they're everyone else is stupid.

It's like eating 10 candy bars, gaining 15 pounds, stepping on the scale, saying you need to lose weight, but then claiming it's from the food you ate 2 years ago and not from the candy bars.

I fully agree, was working on the transition of few of the key applications from MRO to COP. I have seen spreadsheets on how many people are being retained from MRO and it is under 10% for corporate employees. Rest will be gone by end of Nov-Dec

@fc are you implying marathon people are getting axed after the go live date? The marathon acquisition leaned the company out quite a bit already. They cut 90% of the staff and more than doubled EF and BAK acreage.

That's right. They need time to finish Marathon go-live and see how that's going before deciding on layoffs even though they keep saying the layoffs have nothing to do with the Marathon acquisition. The ELT wants you to think the two are unrelated as if it's a slight of hand magic trick. "Look over here at this hand while we trick you." It's just a talking point they want people to believe.

@ev good point. Everyone's getting impatient but communication for a while has been that phase 2 goes through 3Q with layoffs Q4. I'm right along with you wishing we would just know what's happening already but rhat's the timeline without the specific details.
