Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Severance - not budging

After careful review, consideration and counsel of the severance offered this round, we asked for reconsideration.
Copy and paste responses were given, and they are not budging on the package.
Anyone else hit a roadblock? Why do they think these offers are worth the YEARS of dedication put in??
Last rub of salt on your way out.

@OP Fantastic! Start thinking of all you know CDW has done wrong (actual events) or not addressed or turned the other way on. They will not want their dirty laundry aired in court or on the media. They will do anything to keep it out of the media or court. That is especially true if they lied or did something wrong with clients. Comments like " after all of my years of service and loyalty even when......" will get them to back down fast. It can also be something that your attorney will want to take to court even when they offer more, knowing he can win a ton more. BRING IT.

Friends. Ask your self, they don't have to offer us a severance. That is true. And yet they do only to say you won't sue them or talk bad about them. Why? Why are those two things worth paying us for if they aren't scared of it. Because they don't want to do that because it hurts their name and they would lose in court and could lose big. The cost of them hiring attorneys to work to defend them and their time on this is greater than giving you more if your attorney contacts them. So sue, they will settle for much more 'especially the older people over 40 and the minorities and women' and they will give you a new letter with more money and you have to sign you won't tell anyone about the new deal to get the money. If you go to court, you will get a ton more but that takes your time to do it and maybe some money if your attorney doesnt do it for some of the winnings, which most do. Stop being fearful and fight for your kids and spouses. They didn't marry weaklings. They married people that would stand to defend them when someone hurts them after years of service. If you don't do it for yourselves, do it for them. I am soooooo happy I did last year. And though they tried to give me more, I took it to court anyways and won much much much more.

If your attorney does not contact them on your behalf, they will try to be tough since they already lost a lot to coworkers like me. Hire an attorney and they will more than budge. They did the same thing to be until he drove the issue. Don't go half way or they will know you are bluffing. Get your money and invest in a labor attorney. You will be very happy that you did.

I get not being happy with the package, but are they required to give one at all?

So even if you take the severance and sign
, it does not preclude you from filing an EEOC complaint. If you suspect age discrimination. Everyone should file it. I guarantee it will make their life a living he-l for the next year.
