Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Progress so far?

Three weeks in and how is the merge going? The SLT don’t appear to have done as much upfront planning/organizing as they did when we re-org early in 2024. More questions than answers now although there are real things expected to deal with. Do we have the right people working the right areas to ensure the right integration?

Progress and xerox. Wow like oil and vinegar. You can put them together here anyway you like, but they still separate and don’t mix well.

3 types of people at xerox

Bamboozled

Brainwashed

Blowhearts

Remember that next time you have an issue or something doesn’t get done.

You’re so close to the source, you can’t see what’s going on.
Just like Manford Mann you are “blinded by the light.”

"So why was there so much Lexmark debt to be covered in the acquisition? "

Funny part is Xerox has been handling their financials for years.

I think LEX has good machines but with a management team on par with us. Run into the ground. Cr-p + cr-p with a combo of poor managers. Not looking good. The acquisition will buy the EC a bit more time “combination headwinds” but time is running out. I hope I make it to January!

"They bought a good company, never met a customer that didn’t like their Lexmark."

So why did the company making terrible machines buy the good company?

The plan all along is being followed. They have slowly been letting every department be outsourced while currently promoting Lexmark executives to Xerox positions. They are going to unscrew the Lexmark sign off the building and hoist up the Xerox sign. Viola. Lexmark with a big Xerox logo on it.

Not smart enough to know they needed a plan, never mind make one. The focus will be layoffs now. Waiting to see Q2 results for the last time.

They bought a good company, never met a customer that didn’t like their Lexmark. Yes I’m aware of the CCP stuff.
If you work on equipment you will understand that a printer working with just shy of a million clicks VS a B405 you’ll understand

There is probably an execution plan already. IRIF list needs to be reviewed and signed off by Legal. One could say that the IRIF would be heavy on the Xerox print business side. Lexmark will lead the future print business. Whatever is left of Xerox print business is probably no longer needed in the long run.

Just figuring out IRIF's. They'll need a lot less people. Those making bigger money will go regardless of tenure, value they bring etc. There has been many of good ones let go. No one is safe.
