Now that Chevron owns Hess, will that change the current reorg in anyway?

Hess has like 4 direct employees so likely not.

Hess didn’t operate Guyana so Chevron only needs the key people at Hess. The HR, IT, and other support roles at Hess will be gutted and moved to the “Injun’s”. Hess has assets Chevron wanted the assets but the people are liabilities, no different than the existing Chevron staff.

Those poor people at Chevron who are getting let go. The labor market was already soft. Now they have to compete with more skilled and harder working Hess people.

I have to think that acquiring Hess was in the plans for this reorg round. That said, focus will be on shedding unneeded Hess people.

I doubt it would for this year, but I'm pretty sure it locks in layoffs for next year.
