Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

I left, and it was the best decision I could have made

It wasn't easy and I had to remind myself that staying in a bad job out of fear is its own kind of trap. You don’t owe anyone your misery. You’re allowed to choose better for yourself. And most everything is better than SF. The paycheck might be steady, but if the cost is your peace, it’s too expensive. You’re the one driving.

If you do not have a lot of years and trying to max out your pension, I would leave now and start somewhere else. It will be the best decision you have ever made. This sh-t hole is a life su-king tragedy that is a complete dead end. SF will be just a shell business within a decade. Some will find that hard to believe but it will fall really really fast as MT destroyed SF and it will never recover. They have made all the cons they can make and have run out of options. Now resorting to start cutting pay and benefits. That is when you know a business is truly done! Last gasp of air! When you sell your soul to the devil, he always comes to collect.

I 100% agree. Remember, no one there is your friend. They will throw you under the bus quick. I demoted from TM at SF to individual contributer at another company...get paid more. Go figure, less work more pay.
