CDW used to be a great place to work. We used to care, we used to develop, we used to honor our coworkers. Once we started doing layoffs and realized it help led our books, we just can’t stop. Yes, some are poor performers, but most are long time tenured coworkers who have value. Work on managing our poor performers and stop using layoffs as your performance management strategy. No one will want to work here if we do t change.

Couldn't have said it better myself.....I feel bad for anyone that came on the last 3-4 years. This place used to be so different and such a great to place with a great culture. Had a family feel to it. All that's left now is a burned down house.
Sadly, it is all true. I know who wrote this because we all live on the same street. My daughter lives a couple of homes to one side and you are a couple of homes to her other side. She is on 1108 Albion Ave. They were affordable homes for years and now we have all quadrupled our value in 30 years. Her family had roots in several homes on the street. She used to wave and now she is too smug to even acknowledge anyone. She has a beautiful summer home in Wisconsin that she frequents. Summer homes must be an executive thing.
Wow! CDW communications is at work. I have stood on the sidelines because I have always supported CDW but that last communications driven message is the trigger. Now you have another leak in the fold. Why don't you tell them about the automation efforts to replace the workers in operations. I will post who they are researching to start that initiative next year. Ops, your VP knows but he tells execs you all love him while he works internally on your demise. I will post more in the near future for you to know the facts and who the partner is that will be on-boarded after the outsourcing is done and working well. You cannot be this manipulative to our coworkers and not have some of us leaders stand up and help our coworkers who make us what we are. There are executives that care. Aletha and Jill do but Liz, Al, Rick and Sonja are totally against the CDW way. They are all from other companies and brought their old ways to the fold. And as far as layoffs, they happened with many companies before. CDW just didn't get in the mud and somehow caring for our coworkers allowed us to grow. The change is the leaders. I happen to know the one driving this . She is a neighbor of mine on Albion Street in Chicago and I was a supporter but power and money corrupts. I am sorry I didn't step up sooner but that corporate communications post is just sickening.
@a6 Oh totally — mass layoffs are fine because everyone’s doing it. It’s not a leadership failure, it’s just a vibe now.
Sure, it’s happening across tech… and finance… and retail… but why stop there? Maybe we should zoom out further and realize it’s not just a CDW problem — it’s a late-stage capitalism problem wearing a Patagonia vest and pretending it's “streamlining.”
But hey, as long as the stock goes up for 6 minutes, who needs job security, right?
