What do corporate employees have to do with going back to the office? Honestly, they weren’t doing much even before Covid! Just look at how they handle store planning—store managers end up mapping out their own layouts while dealing with Regionals who can’t even figure out proper merchandising or what’s actually selling. And let’s not even get started on those corporate folks who only seem to care about those fancy mall stores that always look dim and outdated! As for the buyers? They clearly have no idea how to pick quality merchandise—they just keep going for the cheap stuff!

Anyone who doesnt follow MAM and Don's ideas is fired. They have let go of anyone who speaks out or has an opposing viewpoint, so you're left with incompetent buyers/planners, yes men, and people with no experience.
Unfortunately that’s how it is in any company. Main focus on how to reduce operating expenses, how to load over maximum on working level employees, how to implement tactics and metrics forcing one person to do three people jobs. The goal is to feed well meaningless, worthless, clueless, but well connected individuals at the “penthouse “. Since they only have pretend jobs, they have to come up with something to do time to time, which is usually leads to meaningless and even harmful for business additional workload and demands.
@aq exactly!!!
Not a person above store level had ANY idea how to run a buisness. They are completely useless brain dead id--ts. They work from home and come up with d-mb ideas for the stores to try without know the market for the area. Each store has a different need.
