I was called a troll but for the third time, you now see we have an in on the information. The next one is coming mid to third quarter of next year but there will be small groups of layoffs along the way that WILL include more coworkers and this time Directors and Managers in different areas of the business and a few Vice Presidents will be included. I have another two years until I retire so I am hoping for my package so I can escape the stress and the poor leadership.

Nah. The guy missed meetings left and right, when he did attend he gave snarky responses and did not actually listen or pay attention. He Always thought he was the smartest and funniest guy in the room and actually did not understand CDW.
@r2 I only knew Andy for a very short time before he left but he came across as a very humble and nice human being. CDW recorded an interview with the guy that they shared internally and it was all about who he was. It was very personal and genuine. Wherever Andy is today, I wish him well and from my perspective, losing Andy was a great loss for CDW.
YES! The distribution centers will be hit next year. Ops first through automation. They will test the automated DC slowly and quietly. Once all is well, they will start laying off coworkers. in ops They are already testing sending some config work to cheaper areas and if that works, they will move the jobs slowly to that partner. I cannot name the company or they will figure out who I am because only a few of us are assigned to that project.
@p6 Andy Eccles is likely the cause of these layoffs. That guy was an absolute disaster with his pompous attitude and business direction. Good riddance!
It makes you almost miss Andy Eccles
Any chance you can confirm or deny that Configs and Ops are on the target for next year (according to another comment on another post here)? I know people who work under both banners, they don't know about this site, but I also don't want to "panic" them.
I cannot believe that poster that attacked one of his own and then said the only way to get out of this is to call people names. What a drakeconian thought. SMH
As one of those who was invited to one last meeting on Wednesday, I know that companies aren't in business to hire people. I don't put much stock in the boilerplate reasons given. What was stupid was cutting me loose in the middle of a large project for a long-time client.
Good post. The data you are providing is helpful in making my decisions. I for one, appreciate it.
BTW, We have to stay together during difficult times and not tear each other down because we disagree with each other. Now more than ever, we need unity.
My advise is don't wait for a package. Look around and if you find a better opportunity, jump on it. A severance is not worth a bird in the hand. But if you are near retirement, yes wait. A couple are now making more money and a larger bonus with JD at Levata. Levata also takes care of its customers the way CDW used to.
Thank you all for having my back from that very mean message. I am just trying to help share what is happening because I know we all have families or spouses and want to help us all prepare and make decisions. A very small amount of layoffs will happen the last quarter. It will hardly be noticed but will impact only one person or so in places across the country or different departments so It will hardly be noticed because of the small size. The medium and massive one will happen next year. Unfortunately. Bless all of you.
@cn name calling is the only way to get out of this mess
@c1 why so hateful. So many people are waiting for there package. Why is this person a coward? CDW needs to get rid of top management who have no clue what is going on. They are outsourcing to a company that has been fired by several US companies due to poor performance. Chris Leahy and several others should decline their bonuses or collect half to help out the mess they are in. CEO and VP should not be making these bonuses if you’re laying off. BTW Name calling is unnecessary. Everyone is entitled to provide their comments and feelings.
What a rat-coward you are. You should quit now. You arent helping anything or anyone. But ill bet you JK off reading your own messages.
this is all part of our great ceo's plans to afford a private box at the olympics, maybe she will network with the north korean teams to open an office there so we can outsource the jobs india took.
We have incompetent management so yes, it will keep happening. Leahy should've been fired already.
im guessing the next small one will be october?
Once a company decides that losing large chunks of employees in waves of layoffs is an acceptable strategy to adjust the balance sheet & placate shareholders, the layoffs never really end. The issue that I have with CDW is that they have not only firing the low-performing producers -- they are periodically letting go of many highly experienced and effective co-workers with little to no warning to them. NO ONE feels safe leading to an uncertain, depressing and hostile environment where the more talented among us are looking for the exit. Or have already left!
