Strong performers will remain to fill the roles that are left and they will be worked to the bone until they quit. Those that get packaged out will be the lucky ones to escape.

@19s the process will actually be pretty simple this year. No promotions and everyone meets expectations unless you genuinely su-k. There may be a handful "strong performers" but those will be very limited.
Ratings will be an interesting endeavour this year in the between (most likely given announced timeline) of when a WARN notice has gone out and when we do end of year stuff (usually week 2-4 of October). How will that be handled? Does it even matter any more at that point?
I think we should cancel end of year performances, though that would never happen.
You will need to get out of our industry if you want to land a job that wont have the same uncertainty for the next few years.
@c6 I’m hard just thinking about it
I am amazed at the stupidity of some. The bait was cast announcing the future. Severe job cuts will come shortly. Some fools will wait to get a token package. Then they will be unemployed for an extended period. The Jobs in this industry are drying up.
HR uses a forced ranking process to conduct a RIF. Those with high performance ratings on appraisals will be offered to stay. EOI’s will be offered and employees at all levels will take them. Those remaining can expect an increase in workload.
COP stock will be a good buy as all indications are that Lance is positioning the company for a buy. What job do you think you’ll have then. Leave while you can. Stupid gets burnt.
Definitely some strong performers left. Few and far between to be sure. Too bad.
Should it be any other way?
Be real. There are no high performers here, just brown nosers and favorites. All the best technical people left for better companies.
