No judgement on your reasons. I'm curious, for the folks who are still actually working at Riverbed: why? Or is this forum entirely made up of bitter ex-Riverbuddies now?

Took a chance sticking an around because Indian boss said there’s upside. Did good work and cemented my Indian boss’s role. Indian boss lays me off. Underpaid and overworked. Don’t trust them. Got a 33% raise in my next role.
@vk The devil you don't know might come with 3x Riverbed compensation though lol. I'm a former Riverbed employee. Glad I got laid off when I did even though it was painful at the time. Riverbed is a place to hold on to a dead end job close to retirement if you really don't want to interview prep. That's all it's good for. I did enough damage to my financial position by staying there and settling for trash comp longer than a couple of years that it makes me angry now.
Riveebed insurance policy save me and my family life a few times . Personally I'm quite financially stable so I guess is just my give back to the company for staying with them during difficult times.
I started @ ipo, getting laid off 17 years later was hands down the best career move ever. I’d probably be there still all miserable.
Nah… we are all just Bitter ex Riverbuddies reading for schadenfreude & revenge whilst drinking our margaritas at sunset on the beach. Especially for some of the carpetbagger managers brought in over the last 3-4 years who were and are worthless.
It’s a good idea to update your resume even if you have no plans to ever get another job. It’ll remind you that you really have accomplished and learned stuff, and it means that if an opportunity does present itself, you’re ready.
that's a bit depressing! hit "apply" on just one job posting on LinkedIn after work today. It might inject enough energy to do it one more time tomorrow evening, and then again and again until you find a better place.
I’ve been with Riverbed 10+ years and constantly question myself ALL the time why. For me personally its because I am running on fumes at the end of day. I am not coasting by any means so its not because of that it is mainly because for me at the end of my day I am exhausted with no energy left. I hate the idea of applying for jobs online and going through the interview machine at another company to ultimately end up at another place that is an unknown, I feel like most other companies will have the same politics and BS just like Riverbed. I guess for me at the end of the day its pretty much the devil you know vs the devil you don’t…
