Thread regarding CDW layoffs

They’re going to offshore us to death, aren’t they?

And funnily enough, they’ve been letting go of the skilled, the experienced, the valuable.

Yes. CDW UK started outsourcing roles to South Africa last year.

This was all entirely avoidable, if you'd just simply updated your $10 SF Opps

Oh absolutly, they’re gonna offshore every last warm body they can until the only thing left in the office is a flickering fluorescent light and an unpaid intern running ChatGPT prompts. And yeah, let’s totally point fingers at the experienced folks for coasting while execs walk off with million-dollar bonuses for tanking morale and growth.

Maybe, just maybe, the people who have been grinding for a decade earned not living in constant fear of getting replaced by someone cheaper...burnout is not a myth, it is the predictable outcome of squeezing every ounce of value from workers and then tossing them aside like broken equipment.

But no, let’s all hustle more, learn to code, master AI, drink protein coffee, and pretend we have control over any of this. Real motivational stuff.

You should not be worried about offshore. That's the least of your worries. Offshore en masse will be dead in 3 years. AI can do most of your job right now, probably better than you can, and it never sleeps and never complains. Please. Just...do...better. Hustle more. Stop whining all the time on this site. Learn to master AI or it will master you, and soon. You will keep your job with this simple advice.

valuable certs and exp are only beneficial if the individuals who hold them are actually available and willing to hustle. IMO there are WAY too many senior folks coasting around at $200-400k/yr working 3-4 remote hours a day, with little to no accountability, and growth has suffered as a direct result.

Seems like it. Firing data resources (with valuable certifications and experience) is such a joke.

Sorry to all.
