Are the mandated 3-days in the office for the Merchandising organization just an excuse to fire people? What are people hearing?

i get it, to survive we need to cull some folks...
@1th well jokes on them because I have to log into my vpn to connect while I’m at HQ due to the wifi network
I mean, the company isn't going to admit that. But it sure seems set up that way.
@gz PD&D has the 3 day a week mandate.
@1tn they are.
We can't manage implementing technology to run the business. No chance they're capable of anything like facial recognition at HQ.
@e8 I wouldn't put it past them to use ai to track employee faces while in the building and track if employees are logging in via an HQ network or vpn
Ha, if 3 days is too much, then you are part of the problem. And no, they don't allow you to drink wine and do laundry while in the office. Get real you whiners
@g5 which group did they tell this to remote employees? I’m remote within construction and haven’t heard anything yet like that..
@g5 I wonder if they are applying that across the board including PD&D? I know TGT has invested in many remote designers over the years.
@d8 their telling us we have to move to Minneapolis or resign. No severance offered, possibility of no unemployment.
@dj, Do you have to badge out downtown now? At TNC you only badge in and to your floor, never to leave. You could do both and conceivably leave. Many people bring lunch and never have to re-badge into the floor again.
In short, yes. It's a precursor to additional RTO enforcement. Currently, it's 3 days a week, and then it'll be 4 after FNM. Remote work will need to be business-justified. And don't forget that badge scans are time-stamped - they'll know if it's a quick in-and-out to manipulate a tracking report.
What are they doing with people with remote work agreements? There are quite a few, especially in sourcing. That includes L7 and above.
