If ure layed off u get severance. So can u ask your manager to be added to the rif list? I’m sure they have one given how frequent they’re pushing ppl out….

Tell your manager you’ve had nothing to do all year, and they’ll give you an ‘exceeds expectations’ and the biggest raise on the team. 😂
@bn I keep asking to be laid off and somehow they respond with raises, bonuses, and promotions. This is the most confusing rejection I’ve ever experienced.
@OP I replied as @e2 under the older post "How to be part of a layoff." I asked my manager repeatedly to lay me off, I was that miserable. I was in a position where I could coast for a long while if needed (or retire), and was trying to save someone else's job in my group. Never took me up on my offer. I thought a bit of severance might make leaving sweeter rather than quitting outright, I am a finance guy after all. I was very fortunate to land another role in another industry, and left USB as fast as I could.
