Thread regarding Collins Aerospace layoffs

Layoffs are a way of life

Layoffs are a way of life at Collins and Raytheon.

As you work your way up you work to get more pay. The company leadership is always looking to keep costs down. When your boss is told to reduce costs does he/she do:

  1. Argue that the experience their people have is valuable to the company.
  2. Layoff the higher paid people in order to meet their personal/professional goals.

Well, if you selected "2" you are correct!

Your experience and your education mean nothing to RTX. All that matters is if they feel they can replace you with someone younger and cheaper.

Windsor Locks is going to get hit hard in Q4. Costs are too high and mgt feels thay can get surviving workers to fill in for those laid off.

OMG ain’t that the truth! I got walked out yesterday after 10+ years of service. All because my productivity was off by a few points. Layoffs are coming and I would’ve been paid a severance package, but they’re just firing people here and there in the Melbourne site. Favoritism There it doesn’t matter what you know it matters on who you know and if they don’t like you, you’re out. They will replace you, with younger and doesn’t work. I’ve seen it first hand what a cr-ppy company. I hope they Tariffs the heck out of them!!!

That’s the hard truth. We are all on the chopping block here at the Melbourne Fl. site.
