Too many people left or have been laid off and even fired and nobody was hired to replace them, leaving all the work to the rest of us. I've been trying to find something else with no luck. being laid off is the only way for me to leave this place and still have a good enough safety net until I find something else. So yes, I'm hoping for layoffs instead of fearing them. That's where we're at.

@OP if you were in tech and were laid off, you were replaced with an off shore worker. They change the job description slightly so it doesn’t look like they are replacing your exact job with an off shore worker, but that’s exactly what they are doing.

I would rather have extra work than looking for employment right now…..

I am leaving soon, so I am hoping to be laid off. If not RIFed, I am leaving.
Hope you find something soon. Try looking in unconventional places: local government, nonprofits & Defense contracting firms (requires in office usually & getting a clearance).
