Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Layoffs.

I would like to think I’m fairly high up on the food chain. I will tell you that there is no indication of layoffs so people need to stop scaring each other on this website. No funding at HHS has been cut yet, and nothing that is going to affect a “for profit“ insurance company. Stop with the scare tactics, please.

@OP There were layoffs both 7/17 and today 7/24 so not sure why people are giving false information.

I am not sure if layoffs are this week but with the loss of stock and big changes go medicaid and Medicare there will be changing/re org/RIFs.

I believe it when the OP says they are pretty high on the food chain. Why?

  1. Because this person is lying. Leadership at this company has an honesty problem. Layoffs are coming on the 17th of July or the following Thursday.
  2. This person sounds like a condescending id--t, which is pretty standard for leadership in the company.

This is a terrible post. We talk about transparency within our organization. If you are "so high on the food chain" why in the hxll are you and others above you on the food chain, not posting this on Spraq, or sharing this during townhall? Rather then coming out here to post this great announcement. So that everyone within the organization can celebrate with confidence your job security message.

@OP No indication of layoffs?

Since 2019, I have read postings here & on Optum layoff. In 2019, I read postings back to 2017. There are at least quarterly layoffs every year, except early in 2020 when they were paused due to COVID.

Read the Optum postings to get more information.

Spring 2024, I slacked off reading Optum postings & missed the 10 day heads up of the large Optum Tech layoffs in my area. The post was spot on about the layoffs. Fortunately, I wasn’t RIFed. But, now hoping to be RIFed since I found a new opportunity.

@aq Bro it's the internet. C-suite and ELS don't talk corporate in their casual, personal free time.

Bogus post. No executive would use language like their place “high on the food chain”.
