Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Savage Management

Friendly reminder that management is not your friend here nor are they looking out for your best interest/career (unless you are their favorite/youngest/cheapest/ easiest one to abuse). Do not trust any of them, as they will throw you under the bus in a minute for their own survival.

Trust no one, as you never know the position they might be pushed in to - where it’s your head or theirs on the line. Leaders at USB aren’t going to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their teams - that would be career su----e with no return. I’ve never seen so many people, leaders especially (if you can call them that), so out to save themselves before thinking about their team or integrity. Any leader worth a damn would have left the company already, versus being a sell out.

I've never worked at a company who treated employees leaving so poorly. Most companies understand that those leaving may come back. When they come back, they will bring back new skills and new experiences. The bank knows that you would have to have a sc--w loose if any ex-employee wanted to come back.

I stay on professional terms but I think that’s a big difference with actually being friends. I only have a couple people I really trust that I know I can tell stuff that it would never get out. I think they know it’s the same thing for me with them. That took years of building that trust. I would definitely never tell management anything like that.

True! Was the best performer on my team. And got the coldest shoulder and no goodbye when I said I’m moving on.

Once they can’t use you, it’s like you are not a human.
