Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Merchandise

It's quite alarming when you walk into a Belk store in a different town and find the place in disarray, with winter clearance items scattered everywhere while summer stock is just sitting on the loading dock. It appears that some managers might be unsure about effective merchandising strategies! Here’s a suggestion: why not stash away that winter clearance in the stockroom—especially if your store can’t offload it to the outlet? It would make much more sense to display the summer merchandise that should have already been put out. And honestly, organizing winter items neatly for online orders could prevent a lot of headaches. Who cares if regional managers complain about winter clearance is off the sales floor, what are they going to do to you? Believe me, the real headache will come from all that summer inventory piling up in the back! I understand that there’s a shortage of staff in these stores, but salary managers really need to step up their game. Clocking out at 5 PM every day won’t help you get the job done effectively.

@a6 yeah its all piled up in the back for the past 4 years with the rest of the FAILED attempts to sell that trash.. buyers for belk are clearly braindead mo--ns. Like like Don, KKR, the RVPs and the GVPs.

Belk is too far gone. It's only going to get worse. My store manager has no thought to anything except which order he barks out while he sits in his office making announcements.

@OP well it would help if Store managers actually 1.SHOWED UP TO WORK MORE THA. 4 HOURS..

  1. Gave 2 sh*#$ about things outside of that T006 bonus and stopped worrying about what the lazy and sorry GVP and RVPs micromanage about. But we all know nothing is gonna change with these WFH executives that dont leave their house except to give themselves a pat on the back by visiting the good stores. Can we have the old pre covid management back?? These folks are horrible and have ZERO clue.

MAKE SALARY CLOCK IN TI SHOW ACCOUNTABILITY AND MAKE W.F.H EXECS SPEND 1 WEEK IN EACH OF THEIR STORES EVERY DAY... THINGS WOULD GET DONE THEN.

Here's a funnier take on your message:

"Hey @a6, heads up! All Belk stores are fair game, except for those mythical golden ones that actually manage to clear out their racks by being able to send their clearance out. But don't worry, you’re still bound to stumble upon that one shirt that’s been marinating on the rack for three years, proudly sporting a grey ticket and a whopping 75% off. It’s practically a vintage classic at this point!"

We are hurting out here with layoff stuff. Could care less of your price of tea in Chiŋa postings. Umm, any good winter stuff left? Which store?
