Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

I'm quiet quitting and enjoying my job once again

Can't recommend it enough.

I see opportunity to improve Chevron’s business everywhere but I’m keeping my mouth shut this time. I don’t need the extra work.

We just got dumped a list of cr-p that people who got left standing did, you should see it. No wonder we're behind the competition. One list said "organize monthly leadership team meetings and coordinate catered food because cafeteria food too expensive". Guess they don't know what a cost benefit analysis is. ADIOS

Wave 2 is wave 2 for a reason. Think about it.

Any boss that would present the work like that is not worth trusting or working for. He is using fear as motivation in a knowledge worker job position. This is counter intuitive to increasing productivity.
You need to eliminate the work that was the responsibility of the people they laid off. If some genius decided they did not need the people then they decided the work did not need to get done.

I am in wave 2 and have tons dumped on me to help out, spread the load, clean up the mess cleared by wave 1. I am told by the manager to his wider team, don't let years of hard work be forgotten by few recent moments of being unfocused. Understand but I am tired, stressed and being so used. Wham, bang, think you mam and goodbye.

@ag by design. They don’t want people who want to make improvements or move the needle. They want sheeple. Anyone left behind is in for a rude awakening. Sadly, this company will never again be a place people are proud to work for.

The quiet quitters were mostly the one selected for jobs. The ones who tried to actually move the needle were left standing.

I’ve been doing it since 2020. It’s the only way.

I got asked to go help put out some fires in another BU after they realized they have massive gaps in the new org. I just laughed - why on earth would I add more work to my plate for no upside, and to cover for execs who are using wishing and ignorance as their reorg design basis. Good luck clowns.

Be honest. You haven’t been working for a very long time. Now you have a popular term to justify it in your mind.
