Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Job market

The job market is really difficult right now with companies laying off across all industries For those coming on this board and bragging about how little you do at work and wanting to get RIFed I hope they find you and give you your wish. You are so brave then put your name out and help the rest of us out who want work. It su-ks to be out searching for a new job. I’m happy to have my severance to help me right now but I would rather still have my job which I liked. There’s always something for people to complain about and I bet a lot on this board just talk big but are quiet as mouses at work, If you even work at the company. This board is full of bitter people who need to move on with their lives. I appreciate the real advice on here from people sharing where they have found success. The rest of you need help and something else to do with your time.

@OP I like coming to this site and posting negative comments. That is my stress relief since we can’t be honest with our managers about the working conditions here. So I don’t need to find better things to do with my time. Maybe just ignore the comments you don’t like. Everyone has the right to state their opinion. Moderators take down comments that don’t conform to site standards.

@OP I hope you get a job soon. I don't like how you made assumptions about people. You have no idea what people in here are really like. I prefer when people stick to facts.

@OP Why are you telling people how they should think or feel? So sick of this sunset of society where people get so hateful to people who don’t think like they do and have to react to things the same to be deserving of breathing air.

I disagree with your comment about this board being full of bitter people. Are there trolls? Yes, but you know who those are by the comments they leave. Majority of the time, this board is full of people who care about others, taking time out of their busy schedule to warn others of things they know or have heard. I appreciate the information that is shared here, good or bad. Us workers bees are all looking out for each other.

@OP Why would anybody who doesn’t work for this company come on here a post like they do? The whole point of this site is to share layoffs and other things here. Why does it matter if I’m “quite as a mouse at work”? Nobody gives a cr-p do saying anything at work is pretty pointless. Nothing would change. This is what people want you to vent about.

@OP -you deserve a response to your interesting post

  • talk big but are quiet at work - not me, not my co-workers -so don't assume because you choose to be passive aggressive - the rest of us are -
  • We need to move on with our lives - many of us have - that doesn't mean we don't feel a responsibility to speak the truth about this company that could care less about it's staff and wake up people who don't have this insight or help others who think this is a good company who "cares"

*Job market is hard - but if you have a wide competency base you are ahead of the game - talent likely always leaves because it can - I left, many of my friends left, many more are planning it - some of us retired, some took better jobs, with significantly better pay

  • you got a severance - so it's clear you did not leave on your own, why is that? - you need to do something with your time other than insult people on this page

There is a difference between being laid off and being fired. Being fired for cause can make it more difficult to get unemployment benefits. I would ask you to consider that in light of the remark you made about putting our names out there.

This place has also done harm to our mental health too. That is why we are in such a bad mood and engaging in some group venting to keep our sanity.

Don't feel bad about not having the skills to compete in the new economy. C-Level has no skills either. It's best to move on and take a pay cut to garner the skills needed to be an employee of the new economy.

Keep up with the comments though it’s great entertainment for us C-Levels…

The job market is really good for those with AI skills. Out-dated skills will make it hard for you to find a job.
