Are we finally done rewarding skin color over work ethic and results? How about hiring from HBCUs instead of ivy leagues or tech schools?

It’s hilarious you think CVX can recruit from Ivies or big tech schools. We literally pay millions to MIT to train our existing staff because we can’t get anyone who goes there to come work for us.
Nepotism is messed up but it’s more likely a highly skilled and disciplined parent with direct industry experience and the ability to mentor and shape their child to be a chevron Allstar is better than the PoC fraternity brother stomping the yard
You have it all wrong, it’s nepotism first, then hire others.
You’re all ignoring the question in the post about hiring and merit
As much as we like to blame DEI, there are companies with more diverse folks at the top eating our lunch...it aint DEI. Look at AW, MW and MN
Based on the very recent termination examples, we can conclude that DEI is euthanized.
@bq don't confuse the mouth breathers with logic
Chevron is in this mess because management is risk adverse. They would rather buy reserves like Hess and Noble rather than explore for it. Let somebody else take all the risk and Chevron can just buy them out. Problem is, the company that took the risk earns most of the rewards.
If non-DEI are innately more competent than any other human beings, how did MW and MN get us into this mess?
Nope....as there was someone in the "ROOM" during the selection event to ensure that DEI representation was considered in the selections. FACTS
They’ve all been purged already
