What’s the point of putting in the effort when every few months there’s a new reorg and someone’s getting laid off? You learn the systems, build a workflow, then bo-m - team’s gone, leadership flips, priorities change. Feels like no one up top cares. So why should we? It’s ridiculous to expect us to keep picking up the pieces they keep throwing around.

I agree this place is a hot mess. We met to discuss mid year goals. What does it matter? If I don’t get RIFd you will give me 3s and 4s for not doing 3 peoples jobs to your expectations. It’s nuts and completely demotivating, I no longer care at all, and OP is right. This is not my problem to fix.
Manager who is a supreme micromanager told me the key to success is to boss others around. I replied I dont feel comfortable ordering people around when I have no authority to. That's how you get coworkers to dislike you. Awful advice from an absolutely awful manager. Who promoted you???
This place is a hot mess of top heavy leadership who are clueless on how the work is done and could careless about the people that do it. Many of us could easily name names of worthless leaders who should never be in that role. No leadership abilities, no vision, no caring, just endless micromanagement.
This place is beyond disfunctional. It’s funny to watch major problems fester because no one wants to “own” the problem anymore. It’s just one team blaming another team and saying it’s not their responsibility. I just stopped caring and it’s really helped me just skate through the day. Not giving a fu-k is so freeing. I highly recommend!
Better off leaving and let someone else worry about it.
