You would be making a mistake to move to Houston because when you lose your job down there you won’t be able to afford to come back to California

Hundreds of employees have had their jobs relocated to Houston the last couple decades. Some went willingly into upgraded homes and lifestyles. A few quit in anger. Others simply rented an apartment downtown Houston and kept their family in California, flying home weekends and/or working from home as permitted. It's not a big deal for a few years.

I know a California employee in middle management who is not planning to move for many years, if ever. He has a desk location in HOU140 on his organization under Workday but has not left California. There are certain people that are being given exemptions and they will never leave the beauty of California, increased pay for his location and avoid the oppressive heat of Houston. While others were terminated for not wanting to relocate to Houston, seems a bit unfair and bordering on illegal.

I personally know two in San Ramon who got Houston based jobs and are hoping to not be told to move until mid 2027. We will see...

I think people in SR know and have known this for a while lol. You know someone in denial, I sure don't. They have mostly AEOI, found other jobs, or are have or making plans to move to Space City.
