Thread regarding IBM layoffs

EMEA layoffs

Any EMEA layoffs? US layoffs are well represented in the media, but I don’t see the same for EMEA despite seeing significant layoff numbers.

I’ve always wondered how they get away with PIPs in the EU where the employment laws are stronger.

Ummmm. The "A" in "EMEA" is "Asia." If you check your Google Maps, you will find that India is in Asia. Full disclosure, a few years ago pretty much all of IBM China was let go and China is also in Asia. But growth in India will dwarf layoffs anywhere else in Asia.

I assume that folks in IBM Germany, IBM France and elsewhere in Europe are getting kneecapped too. The US dollar is not doing as well as the administration might have wanted. That means that Euros and Pounds are more expensive than IBM wants. So there will be more losses.
