Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

If your job or whole team is left standing

Do you have to apply for other roles or transition roles or will they just let you know there’s no jobs for you and then you give back your equipment and go into redeployment for a month? I wish the company was more clear and we didn’t have to come to this site to get information from each other.

@OP i’m a contractor on one of those teams, and I am doing most of the work. I wish I could apply for one of the jobs or even my manager’s job.

If your whole team is eliminated in the new org chart, you still have to apply to at least one open position on another team. When submitting your application in the tool, you can express interest in separating (EOI).

On the other hand, if you would like to stay, you can apply to up to three positions and work with your selection rep to try to get another role. If you are not placed during the selection event (left standing), you can also apply for positions in the PDC event immediately following the selection event.

The redeployment period starts after the selection event is completed and you are notified that you don't have a position (regardless if you are left standing because your EOI was accepted or if you were left standing because you were not placed in a position you were interested in).
