Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Been here a year

What I’ve learned in that time is pretty simple: effort and knowledge don’t matter. What matters is who you know. You can be terrible at your job, but if you’ve got the right connections, you’re set. Meanwhile, the people actually doing the work get ignored. I won’t be sticking around much longer, that’s for sure.

Love when people blame Trump for how Oracle is….Oracle has been a POS for 30 years. None of it is new. None of it has anything to do with politics. Wanna blame someone? Blame every single manager there. Even today from my old unit, I know of 10-12 managers, senior managers, directors who wouldn’t be worker bees at my last two companies. Why? They’re lazy, skillless and toxic and arrogant. You just don’t succeed in an environment with mgmt like that. When these people retire and move on to that next cloud in the cloud, they’ll realize their work was meaningless.

Tell us you didn’t hit the crowd sourced company review sites before accepting your offer, without telling us you didn’t hit the crowd sourced company review sites before you accepted your offer.

It’s more likely you will end up in a department with a bunch of brown noser coworkers and bosses, than not.

What do you expect from an org whose figurehead is a selfish evil man who backed trump?

I trusted some clown to stay at Oracle. Biggest mistake of my life. Only thing I learned is that if there are clowns at the top, you're not going anywhere. Clowns love other clowns. One of the most poorly run companies in the history of tech.

If the board is so great why do they continue to allow corrupt mid level VP that bullies, steals, lies and cheats

to continue?

Hey, SEC guy. Welcome back... NOT!

Ps, did you stop taking your meds again?

If the board is so great why do they continue to allow corrupt mid level VP that bullies, steals, lies and cheats
to continue? He needs to be fired and they need to seek justice and take appropriate action. Are they even aware? Maybe not. It’s time for them take a look at what’s been going for years underneath their noses. SC has too busy making her billions so she can retire. Now maybe they will take action and seek justice against harm done to Corp.

Oracle has the best board in the industry. Soon they will buy Microsoft and Amazon.

The board will conquer the industry. They are great!

Safra et al are the best. Simply the best! They know precisely what they are doing.

Trust the board!

take responsibility for their career

someone is toasty not able to handle the comment and the truth.

Ha ha ha.

Whoever is taking care of their career have left Oracle long back. Whoever cannot find one outside are making foolish comments.

How many such bosses can get a Job outside ORCL? Get a reality check and know your worth in market ORCL B O S S.

Hope than you will understand your inflated EGO.

"In your world view, slaves working in farms should pay gratitude to their owners as they are allowing them to live."

You sound like someone who doesn't want to take responsibility for their career. Doormat much?

inability to recognize how good you have

Heavily biased or you are the B O S S yourself with a B I G E G O that seems like hurt by the comment. Your world view seems limited. The reality of someone's struggles is often more complex than it appears from the outside.

How many people have you really connected with @ORCL who were abused, not superficially, to even understand what people have gone through.

In your world view, slaves working in farms should pay gratitude to their owners as they are allowing them to live.

Your thought is naive as with all oracle legacy software development, unable to innovate and recognize current market forces and except the reality. From a software company ORCL has become a Cloud service company making money by renting cloud.

Hope you learn a little empathy.

All the best with new STEM resources for ORCL to attract real talent to revive ORCL software business.

lack of gratitude

Nice joke. Ha ha ha. Keep paying gratitude to ORCL for your entire career. All the best.

@ef You’re nothing more than a management behind-kisser who thinks the world revolves around Oracle. Bottom line is that Oracle is a joke of a company, it used to own the database market, but lost it all. And anyone with real skills should not want to stay there..

It's all about how well you wipe your d-mb bosses A S S and feed his inflated EGO so he can S H I T back on you and the cycle repeats.

Your lack of gratitude and inability to recognize how good you have it is astounding. New stem grads are lining up for your job as soon as you leave, or more likely, as soon as you are fired!

The important thing is the great job satisfaction you get from working there. The minor negatives you mention are only nits.

I pretty much agree with your post, except you are off on one point.

People who actually do the work are not ignored - they get an ATTABOY!...now here is additional work and responsibilities, with a minor pay increase.
