Scotland office collapses

So, Aberdeen is finally closing. I'm surprised anyone was still there since all they were doing was filing emails from BP about declining Clair production. Thoughts?

Aberdeen was always a country club plush assignment for CDC high-pots.

Look on the bright side. Instead of a small group of highly-qualified experts with decades of experience, you now have dozens of entry-level ENGINE employees with months of experience!

If things really take off, they’ll set up an ENGINE satellite office in Aberdeen and staff it with folks from Bengaluru on expat visas!

I'd take the help from CTC Aberdeen over the mothership ANY day of the week. They were people who deserved to be there rather than the stuck-on barnacles in the "centre" (f*** I hate that term)

Aberdeen was centrally located on the planet to support most of the countries we operate in. There was always a large non-CUE presence of ETC/CTC/TPE folks who worked in the platforms, bins and functions and did work for the whole planet, without having to be awake in the middle of the night. It’s a loss for sure.

Aberdeen office made no sense. Just an address for expensive former CUE employees to call home after the expat gigs dried up. Ironically, replaced by ENGINE and the people the UK formerly colonized.
