Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

ABU severance pay

During transformation in 2020, it was 4 weeks for every year of service. For 2025, several previous threads mentioned 3 weeks. Others mentioned 4 weeks. Which is correct?

India may have better labor laws than Texas but at the end of the day you have to live in India and the truth is, "India su-ks.... It has a lot of crime, people are poor, you can't drink the water, India has a caste system of racism, and etc., etc., etc."

The way the math works out, it has been readily shown that the US benefits, particularly Houston, including severance if applicable, HI and COL factors, are far superior than the aus one. The issue is that the company only needs to meet the local AUS requirements and that's all they do, not a penny more. Sorry for the bad news guys. You all seem to be happy though so no worries, right?

keep it hush hush so that the US workforce doesn't realize they are such tools to the corporation. Many many other countries have Great worker's rights.

Honestly in many cases India has better laws for labor protection then Texas.

Seppos can’t comprehend different countries have differing benefit structures. Aussies don’t get health insurance paid for by the company for example.

From the downvotes, I guess the answer is... Better than what Americans get. Our former penal colony rewards us fairly for our time served.

The calculation is not provided in the ABU, but those in scope are given a $ amount specific to them. People try to reverse engineer the calculation, which is why you see different answers. Regardless, it is MUCH more than the government mandated amount.

They do not disclose the ABU calculation

This must be an outsider troll post because if you were ABU you would know since it's common knowledge.

@OP ask your HRBP and be grateful it’s anything over 2 weeks. I only wish we had that in the US.
