Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

This reorg’s a mess, they’re mostly making it up as they go. The early heads-up actually did me a favor, it gave me time to really think about whether I still saw a future here. Turns out, I don’t. That clarity pushed me to look elsewhere, and I landed a great role. I wrap up this week. They can keep on reorganizing, I won’t be around to watch it.

@OP good luck. 👍. I left Chevron in 2020 during another one of their reorgs. I had been with them for a decade but got tired of the reorgs every 4-5 years. When they offered the enhanced severance package, it was just to temping, so I took it.

I miss the pension, but I increased my salary by about 20% with my next job. Glad I left. And the lump sum payout made it even sweeter.
