Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Six years ago, I joined Nike full of optimism

Great brand, seemingly stable industry, clear career paths. Today, I can honestly say it's the worst professional decision I've ever made. Despite consistently top-tier reviews and taking on responsibilities two levels above my pay grade, I've been strung along with empty promises. "Wait for next cycle" became "after this reorganization" became "once the freeze lifts." Meanwhile, my workload has tripled as they've quietly eliminated positions around me. The most galling part is watching leadership collect six-figure bonuses while pleading poverty to justify our ridiculous raises. I used to believe hard work would be recognized, now I know better. My only consolation is that nearly half my team is also actively interviewing - Nike's loss will be some other company's gain.

I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that but unfortunately it is common. I’d add in watching the schmoozers around you get promoted instead of the people actually getting things done. Good luck on your next role!

Yeah and then they rub in by having a peer 2 levels above you doing the same thing.

You're not the only one in that boat...
