Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

We might just be working for the Devil

Every time I look up our company in the news, or get an email about how to handle something, I just see more and more how evil this company actually is.

I received notice today that if a member moves from one plan to another to get better coverage, their pre existing period restarts…. It’s now treated as if they are completely new members - which means we’re denying all services again for 12 months due to pre existing or waiting periods side note - I don’t know if this is for all of UHG, or just my little company that got bought up by them This is just a microcosm of the bullsh-t that members have to deal with.

The only reason why I’m still working here is because this place is paying the bills and the job market is terrible. I was blind to a lot of things for the first couple years when I was working here but the more I learned the more I really think we might work for the Devil.

Perhaps. But I will say after working in Medicaid and medicare...the government restrictions actually scare me worse in many ways. The general public doesn't know those programs are much stricter and think it's the solution

It’s for individual coverage, not group -
And not all across UnitedHealthGroup, just those policies under one of their subsidiaries.

I didn’t think we could do that. But we were instructed today that pre existing and waiting periods would apply to all plans that are not crosswalked

@OP This can't be for all members – pre-existing conditions can't be excluded on group or individual policies. Is this just for short-term policies?
