Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

layoff % in petrotech

What’s the layoff percentage for subsurface roles? Some high-level manager told me ~10% after EOIs. I haven’t seen many impacted in exploration, and it looks like a number of people getting transitional roles in MCBU. Do you have a sense of the average layoff percentage across petrotech positions overall? Preparing for H2

An analysis of AEOIs / EOIs under the age of 50 would be fun to see. What's Chevron going to look like in 10 years?... sad

All the smart money took the EOI unfortunately.

It is not high. Depending on who you ask, it ranges from 3% to 10%. Some shale&tight teams are hit hard but most of them got the transitional roles

Subsurface is wave 2, looks like for technical roles directly tied to oil and gas, the cuts were not that much [earth science, PE/RE] in BUs in wave 1. Some technical folks in exploration were let go, but mostly PSG 26plus.

From my headcount numbers, it was about 35% in shale & tight which includes EOIs. There are some people with transitional roles until December and some of the people that EOIed are transitional folks.
