Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

EH convinced me

I’m seriously not a ra-ra person. I hate that sh-t.

But i think he’s gonna lead the turnaround.

Laying out the bad news. Not taking a bonus.

But pointing to a legit path back.

Maybe I’m a su---r, but I believe.

Lol a little weird stock bump after the worst earnings performance call in Nike history, and all the simps are busting out the Kool-Aid.

Definitely impressed me that he and his team didn’t take a bonus. I feel a slight glimmer of hope, but I’m still nervous about re-org when we never fully came to terms with the last one! Gonna be a rough time the rest of the year

Totally. I just wish leaders would drop the Nike is a family thing... yes, I have great coworkers. Yes, I believe in our goals. But the family analogy breaks down so quick, particularly in the context of talking about layoffs. It comes across as disengenuous to me. Family: where we semiannually have a culling and kick anyone out who, as compared to peers is no longer pulling their weight? My dog has some problems with this approach. Family: where every five years we switch out of or into a category offense? I tried to realign my own family to the category offense last night, and everyone was deeply confused.

I think the big thing is EH is putting accountability on himself and the LT but not receiving bonuses. Something I might add JD and his LT didn’t do.

That’s in my opinion showing leadership for taking accountability for where the business is at and how we’re doing.

I agree a lot of the decisions he’s making are what Nike needs right now. But some of the personnel decisions, especially for his leadership team, are questionable to say the least. Let’s see how it pans out.
